I can't believe it's over. On August 10th, we had the largest gathering at a Mustang Memories show ever. In fact, the only larger event ever hosted by the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan was the our first Mustang Club of America "Stampede to Dearborn" National Show held in 1998.
The 2008 Mustang Memories Show had 436 registered show cars and another 25-30 vendor show/display cars brought by Ford Racing, MRT, Classic Design Concepts, Saleen, and more. The show was highlighted by the Ford Racing display including crate engines, FR500 racing series Mustangs, a Shelby KR, a Bullitt, a 2009 glassroof, and other vehicles. Classic Design Concepts displayed the beautiful "Flashback" built from the Dynacorn 1967 Mustang body and the GT500 Mustang from the new Nightrider TV series. The Saleen display had a new Dan Gurney Edition Mustang in white with blue trim. MRT displayed their recent SEMA vehicles and Pypes Performance Exhaust displayed all the available aftermarket exhaust systems for Mustang. Livernois Motorsport displayed some special vehicles demonstrating their speed shop expertise.
The swap meet featured 54 vendor spots and 25 cars for sale in the corral. To say there was "something for everyone" is a gross understatement. 137 Class Winner acrylic trophies and 16 special "Best of" awards were presented. Despite a couple brief showers in the afternoon, most people hung around and had a great time. We also set a record for spectator attendance with over 2200 paid admissions at the gate. At times there were wall to wall people on the sprawling show grounds.
Many of us need serious time to recover, but we can hardly wait to do it again next year. There will be more show details and pictures added to the website soon. MOCSEM is especially thankful for the sponsor support that makes Mustang Memories possible. We couldn't do it without you and the people who decide to bring their beautiful Ford-powered vehicles to our show. Thanks again!
